OFFERED COURSES FOR THE DOCTORATE IN CHEMISTRY 2023/24

During their Doctorate, students must obtain 18 credits (CFU) of specialist courses, starting from cycle XXXIX, and attend courses on transferable skills for a total of 72 h.

Specialist courses:

PhD students of cycle XXXIX must do the following courses for a total of 12 CFU:

1)     "Graphic Communication of Scientific Research to make your presentations more incisive" (2 CFU)

2)     "Literature search in chemistry" (4 CFU)

3)     “Discovering your potentialities in writing a grant proposal” (2 CFU)

4)     “Instrumental methods for the analysis of materials and of surfaces: molecular spectroscopy, optical microscopy, X-ray fluorescence and scanning electron microscopy” (2 CFU)

5)     “New trends in efficient and sustainable preparation of high-value chemicals” (2 CFU)

They choose other courses (for a total of 6 CFU) from the “Catalogo di Ateneo” that lists all courses organized by the Doctorate courses of Università degli Studi di Milano

Specialist courses:

PhD students choose courses from the “Catalogo di Ateneo”, that lists all courses organized by Doctorate courses of Università degli Studi di Milano.

The teaching board in Chemistry annually organizes courses in the following scientific areas:

  • Analytical Chemistry
  • Inorganic Chemistry
  • Organic and Pharmaceutical Chemistry
  • Physical Chemistry

For the academic year 2023-2024, the following specialist courses will be offered in English and be part of the Catalogo di Ateneo:

  • "Graphic Communication of Scientific Research to make your presentations more incisive" (Coordinator: Daniele Passarella, with the participation of Dr. Serena Ghezzi, 2 CFU).

    The course is mandatory for students of cycle XXXIX: to do during their first or second year

  • "Literature search in chemistry" (Coordinator: Anna Bernardi, in collaboration with Prof. R. Martinazzo and Prof. C. Dragonetti; 4 CFU).

    The course is mandatory for students of cycle XXXIX: to do during their first/second/third year

  • Discovering your potentialities in writing a grant proposal” (Coordinator: Sara Sattin).

    The course is mandatory for students of cycle XXXIX: to do during their third year

  • Applications of advanced NMR techniques” (Coordinator: Francesca Vasile, 2 CFU)

  • Instrumental methods for the analysis of materials and of surfaces: molecular spectroscopy, optical microscopy, X-ray fluorescence and scanning electron microscopy” (Coordinator: Vittoria Guglielmi, 2 CFU.

    The course is mandatory for students of cycle XXXIX: to do during their first year

  • Novel approaches for the structural design of bioactive molecules” (Coordinator: Daniele Passarella, 2 CFU).

  • New trends in efficient and sustainable preparation of high-value chemicals” (Coordinator: Alessandra Puglisi, 2CFU)
